We know that the best care comes from a committed and motivated team. Our care staff rely on the skilled group of support staff, including cooks, domestic, laundry and maintenance personnel, to enhance the quality of life for our residents. This is in the over all control of our Registered Home Manager who is a Registered General Nurse.
Training is crucial in creating such a team. Effective and appropriate training improves the knowledge of our staff and the care our residents receive. All new staff will complete a comprehensive induction programme. Our care staff are encouraged to undertake National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) (Level II) in Care and may go on to study Level III.
Both in-house and external training are undertaken in subjects such as First Aid, Moving and Handling, Health and Safety, Protection of Vulnerable Adults, Fire Safety, Infection Control, Nutritional Awareness and Managing Challenging Behaviour.
We aim to keep our staff team up to date with developments and changes and with best practice in residents care generally.
Prior to admission, each new resident is encouraged to visit the home to satisfy themselves that the ambience is to their liking. Our Home Manager will also wish to discuss the personal preferences of each prospective resident and whatever care needs may be required. This is essential to confirm that we are able to provide the correct environment for each individual.
Individual agreements for the payment of fees will be agreed prior to admission.
